I see two worlds as I walk this morning.
From my left eye the asphalt streets
and brick sidewalks and buildings
are the same streets, sidewalks and
buildings they were yesterday
and the day before.
The world from my right eye is not as
clear and concise.
From my right eye the streets are petticoated
with big-fendered chrome-feathered Buicks, the
sidewalks washed in rainbow colors, the buildings forged
of flaming brick melting in the sunrise.
I make chocolate with both eyes open
(but often with both eyes closed!)
