Oxnard? Used to make fun of the place when we lived in the area. Glass houses and all that. I lived in Arroyo Grande, affectionately known as “Big Ditch” California. And Santa Maria–home to possibly the most magnificent strawberries in existence, was originally Central City, remembered only as the halfway stage stop between Los Angeles and San Francisco. So yeah, here’s to Oxnard!
