Burnin’ Down the House

It was a hot day.
We sat sweating in the lanai
(with those cool little metal green slats)
and tried to keep cool.
Bored.
Took off down the road
and visited a lanai sale.
(Like a yard sale, but not quite).
Got in trouble.
(We were 8 and 6 at the time
and didn’t really ask permission
to go.) So that’s the story.
