Not long after we opened, I mean “first” opened, she wandered in, asked for a latte in her most excellent British. I served the beverage in a bowl we’d purchased from one of those big box Danish design mausoleums and she said (in her excellent British) “let me make you bowls” and she did. Then she moved to Florida and London and many other places (or so I’d heard).
Last week (and six years later) she wandered in, said “I made your bowls” as if I’d forgotten who she might be, though her British had become a bit more New Jersey, since that’s where she settled. She was still Josie, though, and we still use her bowls.
Artist Josie White designed our original drinking bowl as a New Hampshire Institute of Art graduate back in 2012. She found herself back in New England today and stop by the Shop. We still use her original bowls for Chocolate Espressos.
