My favorite chocolate; smooth, understated, nearly unobtainable. The Portuguese carried the seeds from Guianas south, deep into Brazil.
I seek rare cacao
on the road near Bahia --
small pods and white seeds.
Memories of sesame seeds and other things, fragrance of coffee. Poetry inspired.
A pale silhouette
shadows my rice paper door --
I temper chocolate.

I wrote this in the style of the Japanese poet, Basho: travelogues with haikus.
Rare Brazil white-seed Catongo 50% dark milk chocolate with black sesame and umeboshi-infused sesame, and a single Brazil coffee bean.
We found a tiny container with 300g of the precious nibs and turned it into chocolate. There are only 17 of these bars. These beans are as rare as it gets, and I could eat this chocolate all day. At least I wish I could.
