Cacao ready for export at Maya Mountain Cacao in Southern Belize. This cacao is grown by Mayan families throughout the region. This year’s has been low due to impacts from climate change, and many farmers are at about half their normal harvest. This obviously has an impact on their livelihood, since they get paid only for what they’re able to grow.
