THERE’S A REASON our chocolate is as good as it is. In January 2024 I was elected President of Heirloom Cacao Preservation (HCP) and took the opportunity to fully align Dancing Lion Chocolate with the HCP Mission:

to discover, identify and preserve fine flavor Heirloom cacao varieties for the conservation of biological diversity and the empowerment of farming communities. 

HCP gives us access to some of the best and most interesting cacao in the world and directly supports the farmers that grow it. Over the past few years HCP has grown into a mature non-profit organization that provides measurable value to chocolatiers like us, chocolate makers, and cacao farming communities.

As President–my new full-time occupation–it’s my responsibility to help HCP fulfill its potential in the long term.

Dancing Lion Chocolate is creating an ENDOWMENT to fund HCP and my goal is to raise $2 million USD by the end of 2026, the interest from which is sufficient to fund HCP’s administration and operations in perpetuity. Reaching this goal will enable me and the HCP staff to focus our entire energy and grant funds on farmers and strategic projects rather than on fundraising, which in turn helps us further drive our objective–to bring you better chocolate while doing good in the world.
