connoisseur’s club: Valrhona Palmira 2007

July 2008. Valrhona’s Palmira is produced entirely from beans grown at a single plantation in western Venezuela; a region revered for fine criollo cacao.

Palmira. Delicate and sensuous as memories of a past romance, the fragrance intoxicating as budding rose. Warm a bit on your fingers; take it on your tongue. Balanced, nuanced, a hint of red berries. Long, lingering finish.

Since 1922 Valrhona has provided chocolatiers with some of the finest chocolate in the world, and Palmira is one of Valrhona’s finest chocolates. I’ve found that a small taste just before bed makes for very fine dreams.

I want this bar.
