“A Rare and Blossoming Cacoa Origin”

I always thought chocolate came from Africa or Venezuela. But Nicaragua?
Nicaragua is hardly a major chocolate producer – they’ve only got 0.3% of the market – but the flavors are unique and chocolate makers and chocolatiers all over the world are starting to pay attention. From fruity and floral to nutty and spicy, these big flavor profile beans are being turned into premium chocolate. And they’re fetching big prices for small farmers there.
And what I am learning is that this is happening in many countries near the equator. Chocolate growing, business opportunities, and income for small farms. Cacao can be more than just an indulgence, it can be economic opportunity.
